Katherine and Martin’s New Kitchen

Some kitchen remodeling projects provide a stark contrast between the before and after; this is just one of those examples.  Martin and Katherine had a desire to completely remodel their galley kitchen in their newly purchased house.  They recalled the fabulous kitchen provided by Quinta Contractors, LLC some 4 years prior in their previous home.IMG_1223 2

The existing kitchen had been furnished with builder’s grade cabinets, formica counter tops, linoleum flooring, and striped wall paper all of which was well dated.  Having been a prior client of Quinta, they called out to Bryan (President of Quinta) for help.

IMG_1222After a day of design consultation and shopping for the new components, a new plan was developed.  The new design included natural Alder wood cabinets produced in about 4 weeks time from a local cabinet manufacturer.  The new 18″x18″ ceramic tile was in perfect harmony with the new granite counter tops (St. Cecelia granite) and darker toned cabinets.

Taller wall cabinets than original were used to avoid the lost area which catches dust above and to make the kitchen appear larger.  A large crown and staggered upper cabinet depths truly work to revitalize the space.  The new kitchen sink faucet has an oil rubbed bronze finish.  Stainless steel appliances topped off the design for a flawless completion.

An overhead florescent light was remove in favor of adding four new recessed can lights.  After the wall paper was removed and the drywall repaired, the walls were primed and painted.  The linear glass and stone backslash makes a beautiful contrast to the Alder cabinets.

James’ New Roof and More

AFTER: New Vinyl Siding, Seamless Aluminum Gutters, and New Roof

James passed one of our vehicles sporting the new Quinta logo and contacted Quinta for a replacement roof.  Upon inspection we discovered damages which eventually lead to James filing an insurance claim and receiving a new roof.  His roof was about 15 years old and was brittle, making repairs difficult if not impossible.

BEFORE: Damaged Masonite siding

James selected an architectural shingle which complimented his brick home nicely.  James’ home needed more attention than just a roof, however.  He purchased the home with the existing siding which was very poorly installed and actually allowed for water to be trapped and grossly accelerated the rotting of his wood cornice work.  The gutters which were supposed to collect the rain water were leaking in multiple areas as the galvanized metal was riddled with rusty holes.

Vinyl Siding Installed After Wood Repairs Were Made

One phone call from a sign on the truck and it was Quinta to the rescue!  Not only, did we help James navigate through his insurance claim, we also provided quality customer service throughout the process.  Quinta Contractors removed the existing 3 tab shingles and replaced them with the new dimensional shingles (now with a Limited Lifetime Warranty).  We then removed the damaged siding paying close attention to make all the necessary wood repairs before install his new new vinyl siding, followed by the new seamless aluminum gutter system.

Trip’s New Patio

Trip’s Patio Before

Trip knew his old aluminum windows were drafty and not energy efficient. He and his wife had also discussed having a larger rear patio and longed for better access to the patio. He contacted Quinta Contractors, LLC after his father-in-law had highly recommended us. The resulting new patio accomplished everything Trip and his wife desired for their outdoor living space.

Trip’s New Patio Doors

Trip’s house located in the Memphis area was truly a gathering place for friends and family, but the back yard was lacking usable space to entertain. A new patio door was selected to replace the existing picture window which had a single hung window on either side. In order to install the new 60″ French door with side lights on each side, the old windows were removed as well as the lower portion of the wall.

Once the existing patio slab and walkway were removed, a new, larger washed gravel patio slab was poured. The single entry door was also discarded in favor of a new vinyl double hung window. This required the construction of a partial wall to support the window and brick work to make the transition look seamless.

Trip's New Patio Slab

The new door unit was a maintenance free metal clad door. The glass in the door and side lights were dual paned and insulated to add energy savings. Once the interior and exterior trim was installed, the project looked original to the house.

We were fortunate enough to be able to match the existing brick and this led Trip to ask for a small brick wall to define the edge of the new concrete patio. A contrasting 24″ x 36″ stone was selected and installed atop the wall and provided additional seating. Once again, Quinta Contractors had a happy customer.

Jack’s Vinyl Siding

Jack’s house was built in 1981 and was clad in masonite siding. As is so often the case, even his best efforts to keep his home’s exterior painted regularly, were not preventing the deterioration to his siding. Removing the existing siding to replace it would have come with a price tag Jack just couldn’t afford.

Quinta Contractors, LLC was able to offer him a solution which did fit right in with his budget. The premium vinyl siding we supplied and installed fit right over his
existing siding. The phrase “cover the wood and make it look good”, proved true yet again.

Jack's Vinyl Siding Rear Elevation Detail

His new vinyl siding came with a limited lifetime warranty from the manufacturer
covering everything from chipping, pealing, to fading. The bright white he
chose for the trim on the fascia and door and window surrounds provided him
just the right contrast to the gray on the walls.

The “maintenance free” aspect of the vinyl siding is what really sold him on the idea. Knowing he would not have to drag out the ladders to paint it himself or pay for continual costly repairs, gave him peace of mind. Best yet, his home was transformed into one of the best looking ones on the block!

Vinyl Siding

Board and Batten Vinyl Siding 2

Manufactured primarily with polyvinyl chloride (PVC), the product has unparalleled impact resistance, rigidity and strength.  A wide array of color options are available to suit the home owners taste.  Styles range from the traditional horizontal lap and vertical panels to the newer decorative panels such as hand split shake and half round options.  Most manufacturers have limited lifetime warranties on the products protecting against cracking, fading, chipping, etc.

Rotten Masonite Siding

Vinyl siding offers a great way to “cover the wood and make it look good”, a common catch phrase within the industry.  After all, maintenance free is a dominate benefit when it comes to your home’s exterior.   While the material cost of painting is minimal, the labor cost of painting and the labor and materials cost for repairs increase year after year.

So, with no-cost estimates isn’t it time you called Quinta Contractors today for an appointment.  We can aid you in selecting a style and color that fits your home best.  Whether you plan on selling soon or remaining in your home for years to come the worry-free nature of vinyl siding will keep the house looking great for years to come.
