Kitchen Cabinets

Jo Ann's Kitchen (3)

Is your kitchen looking a little dated to you?  Are you tired of the flaws in your builder’s grade cabinets or have you grown weary of replacing the failing hinges and hardware? Perhaps you believe there just has to be a more functional layout for your kitchen.  These are all standard reasons given by our clients during the initial interview regarding the remodeling of their kitchen.

So, lets focus on one element of the kitchen, granted a big one, kitchen cabinets.  All to often home owners find that the cabinets selected by their home’s builder are just not satisfactory.  The cabinet industry has made many improvements in the last decade or decades (depending on the age of your home).  We now can include options like roll out shelves and drawer units which are large enough for pots and pans, talk about getting organized!

We have the ability now, to add matching end panels whether you choose full over lay or half overlay doors and drawers.  Accent lighting can be integral to the cabinets and even be used behind glass to draw attention to your individual decor.  There are spice racks and appliance garages which can be included in the design.  Wine racks and plate racks are great as accents to your new cabinetry.

Okay, envisioning a remodeled kitchen is enticing, but where do you begin?  Contacting Quinta Contractors, LLC for an appointment is your best starting place.  We will schedule a time to meet with you (and your spouse) in order to gain critical input for the design of your new kitchen.  The initial consultation takes one to two hours in order for us to gain a proper scope of the work to be completed.

You know you want it; you just need a plan.  The benefits of using a design/ build firm, such as Quinta Contractors, LLC, to provide remodeling services allows you to entrust the process to qualified professionals.  The secondary meeting is comprised of providing you with a detailed scope of work, 3-D rendering of the new layout for your cabinets, and an estimated cost for the project.  You will have a choice in the species and finish that will adorn your new kitchen cabinets.  The functioning side of the cabinet design also allows you an abundance of options and we will guide you through the process from start to completion.

Quinta installs each set of cabinets with great concern for the details.   After all, the finished appearance of your cabinets will be the cornerstone of your kitchen’s appeal to you, your family, and your friends.  The upgraded quality will prove to enhance the future selling features of your home.  Why delay, when you could be enjoying the new features and benefits of a remodeled kitchen today.  Give us a call and we will make your dream kitchen a reality!

Trip’s New Patio

Trip’s Patio Before

Trip knew his old aluminum windows were drafty and not energy efficient. He and his wife had also discussed having a larger rear patio and longed for better access to the patio. He contacted Quinta Contractors, LLC after his father-in-law had highly recommended us. The resulting new patio accomplished everything Trip and his wife desired for their outdoor living space.

Trip’s New Patio Doors

Trip’s house located in the Memphis area was truly a gathering place for friends and family, but the back yard was lacking usable space to entertain. A new patio door was selected to replace the existing picture window which had a single hung window on either side. In order to install the new 60″ French door with side lights on each side, the old windows were removed as well as the lower portion of the wall.

Once the existing patio slab and walkway were removed, a new, larger washed gravel patio slab was poured. The single entry door was also discarded in favor of a new vinyl double hung window. This required the construction of a partial wall to support the window and brick work to make the transition look seamless.

Trip's New Patio Slab

The new door unit was a maintenance free metal clad door. The glass in the door and side lights were dual paned and insulated to add energy savings. Once the interior and exterior trim was installed, the project looked original to the house.

Trip New Window on Patio

We were fortunate enough to be able to match the existing brick and this led Trip to ask for a small brick wall to define the edge of the new concrete patio. A contrasting 24″ x 36″ stone was selected and installed atop the wall and provided additional seating. Once again, Quinta Contractors had a happy customer.

Sometimes it’s the minor changes like this project which provide the biggest benefits. Not only does Trip have a more enjoyable outdoor entertaining area, but he certainly improved on the curb appeal of his home as well. At Quinta we believe that our commitment to quality customer service sets us apart from the competition.

Janet and Euan’s Kitchen

Kitchen Peninsula After

Kitchen Peninsula Before

Kitchen before 1

So, Janet and Euan had a modern kitchen in their home and felt it simply needed a face-lift.  All the doors and drawers in the cabinetry were in great condition, but the counter tops looked dated and showed various signs of wear.  Wallpaper had been applied to the walls and the area above the counter tops.  Quinta Contractors, LLC came to the rescue to bring a fresh look to this Memphis area home.

Kitchen Before 2

Janet’s kitchen remodel had two other areas of concern from a design perspective.   Lighting was a real issue and was limited to one overhead fluorescent light fixture.  The second issue was the color scheme.  The Formica counter tops were bland and almost matched the color of the ceramic floor tile.  This Cordova, TN couple had a budget which allowed for the purchase and install of granite counter tops.  What the desired was the feel of a complete renewal to the kitchen.

Quinta Contractors was contracted to remove the existing counter tops, the wallpaper, supply and install the new granite counter tops and tile back-splash, and change the lighting.  Bryan met Janet and Euan at the granite supplier in order to help them select just the right slab.  The color and movement (of the natural pattern) were paramount in choosing the right granite slabs.

New Lighting Changes

Lighting changes included pendant lighting installed above the peninsula, under cabinet lighting, and additional can lights for the ceiling.  The homeowners would now have options in how to light the kitchen to match the activity level.  The trim and cord of the drop lights coordinated with the dark deco tiles installed in the tile back-splash and the amber tinted glass provided a warm glow.

The walls received a fresh coat of paint to give the room a real pop of color.  These seemingly minor changes proved to dramatically transform the kitchen.  Janet and Euan now had a warm and inviting kitchen to enhance their home.

Kitchen Island Makeover

New Island Makeover

Becky and Michael called from Desoto County looking to upgrade the island high-top bar in their Memphis Area home.  The existing outer wall was covered with sheet-rock.  Metal corbels were being used to hold the edge of the counter top and the gray from the living room wall was carried over to the bar wall color.

Island before

Island Before 2

Quinta Contractors, LLC was able to transform the look of the island in keeping with the home’s existing decor.  Bead board was installed in between newly constructed wood columns.  Trim applied to the columns added a little more detail to the project.

Island Bar During Remodel

Trim for the base and cap of the remodeled wall matched the existing window and door trim in the home’s interior.  Once primed the new wood was painted with a semi-gloss paint matching the trim color of the rest of the kitchen and living room.  Quinta Contractors provided Becky and Michael with a remodel they could be proud of and display to their friends and family.

Custom Bookcases and Fireplace Surround

Yes, we do custom carpentry!  The pictures displays some work done in Brandon’s own personal home.  This project includes open shelving and lower doors with one set of upper doors.  The shelving is completely adjustable to accommodate changing decor.

Obviously (from the picture above), displaying photos is paramount to Brandon and his family.  The 12″ deep upper shelving provides ample space for pictures and knick knacks alike.  Keeping games and puzzles organized and most importantly out of sight is also important.  The kids know right where to find their favorite things but the parents are quick to point out that, “everything has its place”.  The half overlay, raised panel door style accents the other trim in the room and surrounding the fireplace and mantel.

The lower left and right portions of this family center are 18″ deep and the center unit projects 22″ into the room.  The white enamel paint provides a very durable finish.  Bead board panels line the rear of the open shelves for a dramatic and classy touch.

Brandon's Fireplace

The fireplace surround boasts of upper and lower square columns rising from floor to ceiling.  The simulated inset panels give a majestic feel to this center piece.  A quick run of base and cap installed above the mantel yields a stunning look contrasted by the mocha colored wall paint applied to the inside remaining drywall.  Let Quinta Contractors, LLC design and fabricate some custom bookcases for you.

Sue’s New Windows

Sue's Windows 1

Sue’s wood windows had become a real problem.  The winters proved to be cool even inside the house if you found yourself near a window.  The upper sash (movable panels) had started to sag and were failing to properly close on two of the upstairs windows.

Wood Grain Laminated Interior - Double Hung

Her home had 14 original wood windows.  The house was now twenty four years old and these drafty windows had to go.  She was impressed with our line of Vinyl Replacement Windows which offered a wood grain laminated interior finish.  This was truly paramount in her decision making as four of her windows were trimmed with stained wood as opposed to the others merely being painted.

Wood Grain Laminated Interior - Picture Window

Once each set of wood sashes and frames were removed a new Vinyl Replacement Window was  installed in its place.  These new replacement windows were installed from the exterior so that the interior trim remained intact and undisturbed.  The windows were then sealed and wrapped with vinyl coated aluminum on the outside.  A thin coat of caulk was the only interior change.  The exterior color was our standard white as was the interior of the remaining ten windows.

Sue's New Windows 2

Our Vinyl Replacement Windows come standard with a LowE (Low emissivity – actually low thermal emissivity – is a quality of a surface that radiates, or emits, low levels of radiant thermal (heat) energy) treatment applied to the inside of the outside pane of glass in each sash and Argon (an inert gas, five times more dense than the air we breath) gas for insulation.  These windows offer a limited lifetime warranty.  Call us today for your FREE window assessment.

Vinna’s Patio Cover

Brandon’s mother-in-law had a beautiful outdoor pool and patio, but the sun was relentless during the summer months.  She wanted a cover that would both shelter from the sun and provide an escape from sudden rain showers.  The design included 10′ foot ceilings and no exterior walls to enhance the open, airy feel.

Ceiling fans were installed with with light kits to allow for late evening entertaining as well.  Dry-stack stone bases were topped with stone caps.  White 10″ fiberglass columns matching the color of the cover give an iconic look to this outdoor entertaining area, while sharply contrasting the color of the natural stone.  The insulated roof panels truly provided a cool spot during the hottest times of summer.

Vinna's Patio Cover

This project evidences the wide array of services provided by the folks at Quinta Contractors, LLC.  The craftsmen we employ have the abilities to make most any dream a reality.  Whether the project relates to outdoor living, a new kitchen or bathroom remodel, or simply vinyl replacement windows, Quinta is ready to serve.
